After dropping two tough losses on Saturday 4-0 and 9-7, the Red Barons returned home on Sunday and swept the Erie Kats by scores of 8-7 and 4-1.
In game one, Derek Gilbert got the win with relief help from Roman Wild to close out the game in the 7th inning. Offensively, the Red Barons were led by Justin Judson who went 2 for 3 with two RBI's. Scott Clark added 2 RBI's as well. After falling behind 5-0 to ECC in the first two innings, the Red Barons stormed back and tied the game with 5 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning . Erie added single runs in the 3rd and 5th innings to take a 7-5 lead. The Red Barons added 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th to go ahead 8-7 and earn the win. Wild entered in the 7th and shut down the Erie team to earn his first save.
In Game two, Corning came out swinging scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning in large part due to a Bobby Mentzer's 2-run HR. Mentzer finished 2 for 3 with the HR and 2 RBI's. Cody Marchese and Matt Hicks each delivered RBI's. Dan Early was masterful on the mound allowing a single run and scattering 3 Kats hits. Wild took the ball in the 7th and finished out the game by shutting down ECC for his second save of the day.
CCC next plays on Tuesday at Jamestown .
