Baseball Drops Two at Genesee CC

The Corning Community College baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader on Thursday at Genessee Community College by scores of 10-5 and 12-2.

In game one, GCC got on the scoreboard first scoring three in the bottom of the 2nd but Corning came back and answered with three of their own in the top of the 3rd.  A big four-run 5th inning proved to be the difference in the game for Genesee.  Tyler Troccia was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI's for the Red Barons.  Jordan Prisella doubled and Junior Jimenez scored twice.  Dylan Perry took the loss on the mound going 5-innings allowing 9 hits, striking out 4 and allowing 3 walks. 

In game two, one big inning by GCC led to the defeate of the Barons.  GCC put up 6 runs in the 3rd.  Offensively, Joe Ducot and Jimenez doubled and each had an RBI.  Dominick Teoli took the loss on the mound for Corning. 

The Red Barons will host Niagara CCC on Saturday for a doubleheader.  First pitch is at 1pm.
