The Corning Community College baseball team hosted FLCC Sunday afternoon atop a sunny but cold Spencer Hill. Finger Lakes came away with the sweep by scores of 16-6 and 10-6.
In game one, FLCC jumped out to a commanding 11-0 lead after four and a half innings before the Red Barons would strike as they scored all 6 of their runs in the bottom of the fifth. Justin Judson and Matthew Hicks were each 2 for 4 and Judson recorded CCC's only extra base hit; a double. Hicks and Dylan Perry each had an RBI. The Lakers struck again in the 6th as they added 4 more runs and another in the 7th to get the 16-6 win.
In game two, the Lakers continued to touch the plate frequently as they led 8-0 after 5 complete innings of play. Corning made the game interesting scoring 4 in the 6th but FLCC put two more insurance runs across the plate in the final frame. The Red Barons also scored twice in the 7th but couldn't get any closer. Judson stayed hot and wentm3 for 4. Jordan Prisella was 2 for 4 and Dominick Teoli smacked a two-run triple.
Corning travels to Broome CC Tuesday for their final regular season game.
