The Panthers of Tompkins Cortland CC came to Corning on Wednesday evening and were handed a 78-65 loss at the hands of the Red Barons. The Panthers kept things close during the first half and held a 3 point advantage with 4 minutes to play before Corning went on a 14-6 run heading into then locker room. Shawn Wedderburn was a dominate force inside as he scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to go with his two blocked shots. Devin Cooper was looked impressive as he scored 14 points and added 6 boards. Foster Clark added 13 points, Tyler Collins had 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists while Ramel Powers added 10 points.
The win was also the 50th career victory for head coach Isaac Bushey in his third season at the helm of the Red Barons men's basketball program.
The Red Barons improve to 16-4 overall on the season and 7-2 in MSAC Conference play and currently tied for second place. Corning travels to Finger Lakes CC on Saturday for a huge match-up with the Lakers.
