The Broome Hornets jumped all over the Corning men from the tip-off and held the lead for 39:10 seconds of the game before Corning's Foster Clark catapulted the Red Barons to a 69-66 win on the road. Broome jumped out to a 22-5 advantage to begin the game before Corning was able to go on a 21-13 run to end the first half and keep things within striking distance. Clark opened the second half of play with 3 straight buckets to cut the lead to 3 points. Broome then went on a run of their own and extended their lead to 55-42 with 9:45 remaining to play. Clark then dished three-straight assists on the next three possessions and then hit a three from the wing with :50 left to play, giving the Red Barons their first lead of the night at 68-66. Corning ended the game on a 27-11 run to earn the tough road win.
Clark ended with a double-double, posting 23 points and 19 rebounds and adding 5 assists; all team highs. Shawn Wedderburn posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Ramel Powers scored 11 points.
With the win, Corning improves to an impressive 18-4 overall and 9-2 in the MSAC Conference. Corning hosts Jefferson CC on Saturday at 3pm for their regular season finale. The men have clinched both MSAC and NJCAA Region III play-off berths.
