The Corning Community College bowling team travelled to Cortland this weekend to participate in the Big Red Invitational, hosted by Cornell University, and had a solid opening performance by the men's and women's teams.
On the women's side, the CCC ladies claimed the first two places. Diana Leonard rolled a 1092 for a 182 average and took the women's championship crown. Teammate Alexus Hurlburt finished with a 1077, 179.5 average, and finished as the runner-up. For the men, Alex Sovie rolled a 1141, 190.17 average, to finish in 10th place and teammate Chris Potucek finished one-pin behind for the 11th place spot. The men's team finished 5th out of 12 teams and the ladies finished 3rd out of 5 teams.
