Men's Soccer Nets First Win of the Season
The Corning Community College Men's Soccer team has finally tasted victory. The Red Barons managed to find the back of the net 4 times against the visitors from Elmira College.
The Corning Community College Men's Soccer team has finally tasted victory. The Red Barons managed to find the back of the net 4 times against the visitors from Elmira College. The Soaring Eagles jumped to an early 1-0 lead as they struck one minute into the contest. CCC equalizedat the 13th minute courtesy of Jacob Roth on an assist from Thomas Knapp. EC JV was not done, as they regained the lead 4 minutes later; fortunately for the Red Barons faithful, that was the last time the Soaring Eagles would score. Red Baron Ben Bradley scored his first collegiate goal on an assist from Ethan Roth to tie the game heading into halftime.
CCC took the lead at the 58th minute as Alex Housworth beat the keeper to score the winner on a Ben Bradley assist. Corning was not done as they put some insurance on the board with 1:59 left in the contest as Jacob Roth netted his 2nd goal of the day from an assist from Cameron Thweatt.
The Red Barons next host Jefferson CC in a MSAC Conference match-up Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is slated for 3pm. The women play at 1pm.
