The Corning men's soccer team had their work cut out for them as they hosted the NJCAA's second-ranked team in the nation Sunday afternoon. What began as a challenge ended up being the best performance of the season for the Red Barons. Corning found themselves down 2-0 at the half but were able to outscore the Generals 3-2 in the second half enroute to a 4-3 loss. 10-minutes into the second half Cheick Coulibaly was able to break into the scoring column for Corning on an assist from Boi Coulibaly. In the 62nd minute, Mbemba Sano scored on a C. Coulibaly assist. C. Couliblay tied the game at 3 each with 5-minutes to play on a score thanks to a Walker Moss assist. Herkimer was able to get their fourth goal before time expired. Tyler Morehouse recorded 10 saves in goal.
