The Mid-State Athletic Conference announced its 2013 All-MSAC softball team last week and the Red Barons were well represented.

The CCC softball team hosted Genesee CC Thursday afternoon in a Region III doubleheader. Corning took game one 8-2 before dropping the nightcap 7-10.

The CCC softball team got outside for the first time this year as they travelled to Maryland to face Division II Hagerstown CC. Game One saw the Red Barons get off to a slow start as errors allowed HCC to pull off the 6-3 win.

Opportunity Lives Here......construction of student housing is underway on Corning Community College's Spencer Hill campus. The new 84-suite residence hall includes double and single suites with each suite housing four students. The hall is scheduled to open for the Fall of 2013.

CCC's Director of Athletics, Stacy Johnson, has been selected as the 2011-12 NJCAA Region III Athletic Director of the Year, as announced July 3 by Region III.
The NJCAA announced its softball All-American team Friday and CCC's Bridgette Sutryk found herself a place on the 2nd team, establishing her as one of the top three catchers in the nation at the NJCAA D3 level.
