Softball Splits With Hagerstown CC on Opening Day
The CCC softball team got outside for the first time this year as they travelled to Maryland to face Division II Hagerstown CC. Game One saw the Red Barons get off to a slow start as errors allowed HCC to pull off the 6-3 win.
The CCC softball team got outside for the first time this year as they travelled to Maryland to face Division II Hagerstown CC. Game One saw the Red Barons get off to a slow start as errors allowed HCC to pull off the 6-3 win. Nicole Sutryk was hot at the plate as she went 2 for 3 with two doubles.
Corning quickly adjusted to their unfamiliar environment and earned a 7-3 victory in Game Two. Nicole Sutryk earned the win on the mound, allowing only one earned run and stayed hot at the plate, hitting a homerun while going 3 for 4. Mollie Peck was 2 for 3 with a double and a triple, while Emily McCracken smashed her first collegiate homerun well beyond the left-center scoreboard. Becca Hendrickson was also 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's.
The Barons face Division II Frederick CC in a Sunday doubleheader before heading back to New York.
