The Corning Community College softball team travelled to Tompkins Cortland Community College Thursday afternoon and came away with an 11-0 win and a 18-1 win. The Red Barons are now 22-5 on the season.
In game one, Sam Mennig was in complete control in the circle as she threw a one-hitter and struck out nine in the shutout. She also homered. Alana Eaton was 2 for 2, Angie Frampton 3 for 4 with two doubles and Sam Hauck 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's.
In the nightcap, Frampton earned the win throwing a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and not allowing an earned run. Paige Hendershot was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI's, Emily Knowlden went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's and Hauck 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's. Eaton added 5 RBI's.
With the wins, head coach Stacy Johnson reaches her 499th career win. Only one other coach in CCC history has reached this milestone in school history. Corning travels to Monroe for a big Region III match-up on Saturday.
