The Corning Community College softball team has signed another standout player to its 2017 recruiting class. Michele DiNicola, from Ontario, New York, has signed her NJCAA National Letter of Intent to attend Corning Community College and play softball for the Red Barons.
DiNicola has had a spectacular career at Wayne Central High School, where she has been a varsity starter since 7th grade. Last season, she hit .551 with a slugging percentage of 1.023. She was named the Mudville Touranament MVP, Section V All-Tournament team, 1st team All-Finger Lakes East and All-Greater Rochester. In the summer, DiNicola competes for the Battery Lightening where she was named the MVP at the National Tournament. She is a three-sport star at Wayne were she has also earned Finger Lakes East and Greater Rochester honors in volleyball and basketball.
CCC softball coach Stacy Johnson has this to say about adding DiNicola to the 2018 roster; "I am thrilled to have Michele choose to become a Red Baron. Michele can play. She is quick, is extremely aggressive on defense and can hit the ball. She is a perfect addition to the 2018 squad. I think my favorite quality that she posseses is her competitive nature and drive. She like to win and she will work hard to do so. I expect great things from her as a leader and on the stat sheets."
