Hornell High School senior Kiara Buxton has signed her NJCAA National Letter of Intent to attend Corning Community College in the fall and play basketball for the Red Barons.
Kiara was named to the Section V Class B All-Tournament team this season. She also was selected as a Exceptional Senior and as a member of the Evening Tribune Great Eight Team. She has played on the varsity squad at Hornell since her freshman year as well as competing in Track & Field and volleyball. Hornell coach Brya Dyring had this to say about Kiara; "Kiara is an excellent pure scorer. She can score from beyond the 3-point arc, mid-range and the block. She is a really nice kid that will fit nicely at CCC." According to Red Barons coach Mike Wright, "I am excited to have Kiara join our 2017 recruiting class. Her ability to score inside and outside will make her a tough matchup for opponents. We are looking for great things from her over the next two years. IN addition to her athletic accomplishments, Kiara is an outstanding student. She is exactly the type of student athlete we look for. We are thrilled to have her join the Red Baron Basketball Family."
