Women split during MSAC opening week

The Corning CC women opened conference play with a 62-49 win at Cayuga CC on Thursday, 1/11/18. After building a 20-13 1st quarter and 36-25 halftime lead, the Red Barons kept Cayuga at bay the rest of the game. The women were led by Taylor Sutryk with 23 points and 8 rebounds and Emily Smith with 20 points and 7 rebounds.

On Sunday, the women dropped to 1-1 in conference play with a 77-49 loss to Onondaga CC. After trailing 43-35 early in the third quarter, the Red Barons went cold and were outscored 34-14 the rest of the way. Taylor Sutryk again led way with 18 points and Kiara Buxton added 14. Corning will play three more conference games this week starting with Tompkins-Cortland CC at home on Tuesday.
