Women's Bowling Team NJCAA National Runners-Up; Notebaert Top Honors

The Corning Community College women's bowling team has captured a share of the NJCAA National Runners-Up title after tying with Iowa Central Community College Saturday in Buffalo, NY.  It is hard to imagine that in 21 games bowled and over 11,500 pins knocked down by each team, that the scores would come out identical.  SchenectadyCC repeated as National Champs and beat Corning and Iowa Central by 366 pins.  SCCC scored 11,928 while Corning and ICCC finished with 11,562.

Emily Notebaert continued her dominance through the weekend and took home Tournament MVP honors.  She won the Doubles National Championship, Women's All-Events Title and Singles Crown.  She ended the weekend with a 200.3 average, 14 pins higher than the second place female from Suffolk CC.

Congratulations to team members Amanda Becker, Temma Comfort, Stephanie Corbin, Heather Malloy, Victoria Maracle and Emily Notebaert on their storybook season.
