Women's Soccer Earns 4-3 Win at FMCC; Garrison Sets New Record
Nicole Sutryk netted a pair of goals in the 1st half and Detta Gublo got two of her own in the 2nd half to lead the Corning Community College women's soccer team to a 4-3 victory at Fulton Montgomery Community College.
Nicole Sutryk netted a pair of goals in the 1st half and Detta Gublo got two of her own in the 2nd half to lead the Corning Community College women's soccer team to a 4-3 victory at Fulton Montgomery Community College.
Sutryk's goals came at the 8:38 and 33 minute marks of the contest to give Corning a 2-1 halftime lead. The Raiders came back strong in the 2nd half to score two goals but Gublo was able to find the back of the net at the 53 and again at the 63 minute mark to put the Barons ahead for good. Jocelyn Garrison was credited with all four Corning assists in the game, setting a new CCC school record for most assists in a single game. The old record of 3 was set in 2000 by Amy Swarthout. The game marked Corning's best offensive output of the season as they fired a season-high 40 shots on goal.
Aja Gosper was credited with the win in the net as she posted 13 more saves to her record-settting season totals.
