What looked to be a possible 0-0 halftime game changed as the Hornets were able to finally get on the board with :52 seconds before intermission. Broome's Katelyn Simpson broke free and and was finally able to beat CCC goalie Aja Gosper after Gosper denied 14 first half attempts. Broome extended their lead as they scored again within the first two-minutes of the second half. Danielle Tyrrell was able to take advantage of a Corning defensive miscue as the Barons were unable to clear the ball after a diving Gosper save. Corning was able to keep the Hornets offense at bay until the last 7 minutes of the game when Emily Icenogle extended the lead to 3 and then with 1:20 remaining, Simpson tallied her second goal of the day.
Aja Gosper was once again outstanding in the net in her final appearance for Corning. She denied 27 Broome shots, which was her second highest total of the season. With this performance Gosper now owns the single season save record with 254 saves on the season, and she sets a new career save record of 341 saves in her two-seasons. Earlier this season, Gosper set a new single-game save record with 30 against Alfred State.
Corning ends the season with a 4-11 overall record.
