Women's Soccer Beats Niagara in Season Finale

The CCC women's soccer team hosted Niagara CCC in their season finale Wednesday afternoon and came away with a 6-1 victory.

Alyssa Crawford started the Red Baron offense 16-minutes into the match when she connected on a ball over the top of the NCCC defense off the foot of Lauren Szerszen.  Three-minutes later, Corning went up 2-0 as Rachael Sutryk beat three defenders and blasted the ball past Niagara's keeper. Justine Hulbert lofted a ball into the top corner of the goal off an assist from Paige Hendershot two-minutes into the second half to put CCC up 3-0.  In the 60th minute, Hendershot got her second assist of the game as Crawford scored her second goal.  Taylor White scored her first collegiate goal in the 66th minute as Crawford assisted.  Niagara scored in the 76th minute on a corner kick that bounced around the top of the box before a NCCC foot blasted it into the back of the net.  With the less than 14-minutes to play, Crawford would notch her third goal on the day as she dribbled past two defenders and let one go from the top of the box.

Corning ends the season 3-10, yet their record was no indication of the effort and excitment of this years team.  The Red Barons lost two games in OT and lost a total of five games by five goals.
