Corning Community College and the women's soccer program is pleased to announce the signing of Danielle Cantanese, Hunter Erway and Haley Ford, all from Corning-Painted Post HS, for the 2017 recruting class.
These three ladies come from a program rich in soccer tradition. All three players are expected to contribute defensively for the Red Barons next Fall. Danielle comes to the program as a two-time 1st team STAC all-division defender. Se was team captain at Corning HS her senior season. She competes at the club level for Corning United, and previously for the Soaring Capital Soccer Club. When asked about Corning CC, Danielle stated; "It's a great place to start academically, receive an amazing education while continuing my drams of plying soccer in college."
Hunter Erway will provide a physical presence along the back line. She is a quick and agile defender that is a dominate threat in the air attacking and defending. Hunter was a member of the 2015 Corning-Painted Post HS team that captured the Section IV Class AA Championship.
Haley Ford comes to the Red Barons as a three-year varsity player at Corning-Painted Post HS. As a member of the back line, she was named 1st team STAC all-division on her senior season. Haley provides speed on the outside to ease transition into the attacking third. She competes as a member of the Corning United Soccer Club.
We are very happy to have all three of these student athletes not only decide to stay local but also recognize that they will be major contributors to our program for the next two years. This is a great addition to the Red Barons defense!
