The Corning Community College women's soccer team extended their win streak to 8 games Wednesday as they beat visiting Tompkins Cortland CC in dramatic fashion. Emily Smith scored Corning's first half goal in the 34th-minute as she played a ball at her feet in the box, courtesy of Megan Nichols and vollied it over the Panthers keeper. Corning's one-goal advantage lasted until there were 11-minutes left to play when a Panther had a breakaway opportunity and was able to beat keeper Morgan Price as sehe slipped coming out of the goal. Corning continued to put pressure on the TC3 defense and finally with :55 seconds to play, Taylor Sutryk found Victoria Finn in front of the goal and Fin blasted it into the back of the net. Price ended the game with 5 saves. Corning outshot TC3 29-6. Wth the win, the Red Barons improve to 9-2-1 and gain sole-possession of first place in the MSAC Conference.
