Corning High School star athlete Angelena Maio has signed her NJCAA National Letter of Intent to continue her education and play for Corning Community College in the Fall of 2015. Maio will participate in volleyball and softball for the Red Barons.
As a Corning Hawk, Maio has earned All-STAC and All-Division honors her junior and senior year in volleyball and has earned the same honors her sophomore and junior year in softball. She helped lead the 2014 volleyball team to the Class AA Section IV Championship title.
"Angelena is a great athlete with unlimited potential and will make an immediate impact for both the volleyball and softball teams", said Red Barons softball coach Stacy Johnson of Maio's decision. "I have big plans for her." According to CCC volleyball coach Emily Andress, "Angelena has the potential to lead this team's offense and to keep Red Barons voleyball at the top of Region III. She can be a game-changer and is a great addition to the recruits we have already committed."
