Canisteo Greenwood High School star Amber Edwards has signed her NJCAA National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Corning Community College. Edwards has had an amazing athletic career for the Redskins as she has impacted the success of the volleyball, basketball and softball teams.
In volleyball, the middle hitter was named twice to the First-team All-County team and in her senior season was named Steuben County MVP. On the hardwood, the guard had a career scoring average of 16.7 points per game. She amassed the 1,000 point plateau by scoring a career 1,250 points. For her efforts, she was named First-team All-County three times and Steuben County MVP. She also played in the 2015 Ronald McDonald Exceptional Senior Game and was selected 7th team All-New York State. On the softball diamond, she was named First-team All-County three times.
CCC volleyball coach Emily Andress had this to say about Edward becoming a Red Baron, "Amber's athleticism and work ethic is exactly what I am looking for in recruits. She will make an immediate impact on our program." Mike Wright, CCC women's basketball coach echoed in Andress's excitement. "Amber is a great athlete with outstanding basketball abilities. She will be a great addition to the returnees and other incoming recruits." CCC softball coach Stacy Johnson is also thrilled to have Edwards at CCC. "She could be a contributor to our program as well. It is my hope that she continues to be a three-sport athlete because she can be an impact player in all three of our programs."
