The CCC Red Barons hosted Onondaga CC Wednesday night in an important MSAC Conference volleyball match-up and came away with a 3-0 sweep of the Lazers. Corning was bale to hold off a very scrappy OCC team and come away with wins of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-22. Amber Edwards tallied a team-high 9 kills and added 5 blocks while Jordan Raupers added 8 kills and Alyssa Mosher 7 kills. Raupers also distributed 16 setter assists while teammate Whitney Hauptman added 13 assists. Sarah Heveland notched a team-high 11 digs while Angelena Maio recorded 9 digs.
With the victory, Corning moves to 5-0 in MSAC Conference play and a clinch of the #1 seed in the MSAC Conference Tournament. The #1 seed earns Corning the right to host the four-team tournament on Saturday, October 24. Complete tournament seedings and pairings will be announced at a later time.
