Baseball Sweeps Jamestown at Home
The Corning Community College baseball team swept a doubleheader Thursday afternoon from Jamestown CC by scores of 4-2 and 9-2.
The Corning Community College baseball team swept a doubleheader Thursday afternoon from Jamestown CC by scores of 4-2 and 9-2.
In game one, Dylan Perry went the distance and earned the win striking out 3 and allowing one walk. Tyler Troccia had a huge game at the plate going 3 for 3 with a homerun and 2 RBI's. Corning's Junior Jimenez was 2 for 3 with both hits being doubles and Dominick Teoli had an RBI single.
Corning jumped out to an early 7-run lead in the bottom of the 1st inning as they pounded 5 hits, giving starter Mario Caraballo all the runs he would need for the day. Caraballo struck out 7 and walked 2 in five-innings of work. Jordan Prisella entered in relief and threw two-innings of scoreless ball allowing 2 hits and strkiing out 2. Justin Judson was 3 for 3 with a double, Prisella hit an RBI double, Hunter Price had 2 RBI's, Manolin Terrero tripled and Matt Hicks added an RBI.
Corning will host Finger Lakes CC on Sunday for a doubleheader with first pitch scheduled for noon.
