Horne later returned to Wells College as an assistant baseball coach, working primarily with infielders and hitters while helping develop multiple All-Conference selections.

Most recently, Horne completed two seasons as an assistant baseball coach at Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania, serving on the staff of National Championship-winning head coach Pete Egbert. He worked primarily with infielders and hitters while also coaching first base. During the 2026 season, the Cougars ranked fifth nationally in NCAA Division III in stolen bases and fourth nationally in hit-by-pitches, while also earning multiple All-Conference and All-Region honors. Across the 2025 and 2026 seasons, Misericordia led the MAC Freedom Conference in fielding percentage. During Horne’s tenure, the Cougars qualified for the MAC Freedom Tournament in both seasons and advanced to the conference championship series in 2026.
