Game 1
Corning Community College couldn't keep up with the Genesee Community College offense and fell 13-3 on Saturday in a Region 3 West and Mid-State Athletic Conference match-up.
Colin Klemann stepped on the hill first for Corning Community College and surrendered seven hits and seven runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out none and walking none. Davey led things off on the hill for Genesee Community College and he silenced the Red Baron bats only allowing two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking none.
Nolan Jamison and Xaden Trevizo were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Corning Community College. Thomas Cheplick led Corning Community College with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position.
Game 2
Andrew Jones drove in four runs on two hits to lead Corning Community College past Genesee Community College 13-8 on Saturday. In the second inning, Andrew Jones hit an inside the park grand slam.
Corning Community College collected 15 hits and Genesee Community College had 10 in the high-scoring affair. Genesee Community College were the first to get on the board in the first when Yageric doubled, scoring one run.
The Red Barons responded quickly and flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 6-1. Corning added one run in the third after Jordan Fiore doubled down the left field line.
Genesee Community College put up a crooked number of their own scoring six runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning.
In the bottom of the fourth, Corning Community College broke up the tie when Dylan Beam singled, scoring one run. Then a single by Trevor Reidy followed to extend the lead to 9-7.
Corning's offense made one more late push with four more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on four hits. Jordan Fiore hit a solo home run to left field, Xaden Trevizo drew a walk, scoring one run, Trevor Reidy singled, scoring one run, and Joe Guisto drew a walk, scoring one run.
Porter Hermon earned the win for Corning Community College. The righty allowed three hits and one run over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking none. Thomas Cheplick threw one and two-thirds innings of scoreless ball for Corning Community College in relief. The pitcher surrendered one hit, striking out none and walking none.
Corning Community College collected 15 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Thomas Cheplick led Corning Community College with four hits in five at bats. Nolan Jamison, Trevor Reidy, Jordan Fiore, and Reilly Wells each collected multiple hits for Corning Community College. Corning Community College had patience at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Dylan Beam and Andrew Jones led the team with two walks each.
