Three CCC Red Barons hoopsters were honored by the Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) for their efforts during the 2012-13 season. Will Griffin and Markee Brown were named to the All-MSAC team, selected by the MSAC Conference coaches, while teammate Gladimy Saladin was named honorable mention. Here is a synopsis of each player:
Will Griffin – Griffin, a Philadelphia, PA native, led the Red Barons this season in numerous offensive catagories. His 16.5 points per game, 50.5% field goal %, 37.3% three-point % and 2.1 assists per game were all team-highs. Will recorded high games this year of 45, 36, 33, 29 and 27 points, leading CCC to its first MSAC Conference Final Four in three seasons.
Markee Brown – Brown, a native of Greensboro, NC, was a major contributor to this season's success as he averaged 11.4 points per game, had a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game and shot 38.6% from the field. The lanky guard gave Corning some size on the perimeter and made the 6'4 guard a tough matchup defensively.
Gladimy Saladin – Gladimy, from Stoughton, MA, was the workhorse for the Red Barons this season as he used his muscle to retrieve rebounds and defend players that were mostly taller than he. Offensively, Gladimy contributed 7.4 points per game and grabbed 5.7 rebounds a game.
