Adam Switzer to Lead Return of Red Barons Men’s Soccer Program
Adam Switzer brings nearly two decades of coaching experience across the United States and Scotland to his role as Head Men’s Soccer Coach.
Adam Switzer brings nearly two decades of coaching experience across the United States and Scotland to his role as Head Men's Soccer Coach. With a strong background in player development, performance coaching, collegiate and professional soccer, Switzer has built an impressive and diverse coaching resume.
Most recently, Switzer served as a Regional Performance Coach with the Scottish Football Association from 2011 and 2014-2022, where he helped identify and develop elite youth players within Scotland's national performance pathway. He also served as First Team Coach for Celtic Women's Football Club from 2018-2019.
His collegiate experience includes serving as Men's Head Coach (U21) at Glasgow University, while also holding coaching positions with Dumbarton Football Club, Hamilton Academical Women's Football Club, and Motherwell Football Club in Scotland.
In the United States, Switzer served as Director of Boys Programs for PTUSA (MA) and as an Academy Coach with Soccer Domain Academy (NJ), helping develop players from the youth to elite academy levels.
Switzer holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Coaching & Development from the University of the West of Scotland and holds several coaching certifications, including the UEFA B License, Scottish FA C License, Physical Preparation for Youth/Adult performance, and U.S. Soccer Federation F License. In 2023, he earned the Professional Development Award in Teaching Practice in Scotland's Colleges.
Recently relocating from Scotland to Corning, Switzer resides in Corning with his young family. In addition to coaching, he serves full-time at the college as a recruiter and Interim Program Coordinator within the Workforce Development Office.
Switzer's international experience and commitment to student-athlete development position him to lead the Red Barons as the program prepares to take the field for the first time since Fall 2019.
