August 20, 2012
Corning CC softball was very well represented when the Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) announced its 2012 All-MSAC softball team. The Red Barons had four players selected to the 14-member team.
- Bridgette Sutryk (catcher) - Sutryk led the team with a .453 batting average. She scored 40 runs and belted 63 hits, 18 of which were doubles. Her 41 RBI's were second best on the team and she stole a team-high 13 bases without being thrown out.
- Mollie Peck (IF) - Peck ended the season with a .433 batting average and collected a team-high 47 RBI's. The freshman slugger smashed 13 doubles, 4 triples and 4 HR's. Peck recorded a .925 fielding percentage playing the hot corner.
- Aja Gosper (OF) - Gosper's quickness and agressiveness in centerfield earned her the attention of opposing coaches around the conference. Hitting .414 on the season from the lead-off spot allowed her to cross the plate 39 times for the Red Barons. Most impressively, these 39 runs were scored in only 27 games as Gosper missed the last fourth of the season due to a season-ending injury.
- Nicole Sutryk (pitcher) - "Colie" had a solid outing on the mound her freshman season. The hurler finished with a 3.04 ERA and struck out 112 batters in 124 innings. Sutryk was 14-6 overall on the season.
