Daugherty Signs With Red Barons Softball

Corning Painted Post softball standout Ellie Daugherty has signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent to play softball and continue her education at SUNY Corning Community College in the Fall of 2020.  Daugherty, a member of the 2019 Class AA New York State Softball Championship squad, is a welcome addition to Coach Stacy Johnson's recruiting class.  "Ellie has played in big games and has played on quality, competitive teams in her career.  She knows how to win, compete and work.  I will take student athletes with those qualities any day."  Last season for the Hawks, she hit .338 with a .404 on-base percentage.The firstbase/catcher collected 21 RBI's in 80 at-bats. She has played travel ball for the Lady Rebels 18u Gold and Fury Fastpitch.  She was named 5th team All-State her junior year and was a 1st team All-Section IV selection at the DP slot.  Daugherty plans on majoring in Psychology at SUNY Corning.
